Description:
Application
Fluorescamine spray was used to visualize polypeptides, in an investigation done to identify the chemical nature of human tumor antigen (OFA-I-1). It was also used to label nucleotides, in an experimental study, conducted to detect end stage renal disease (ESRD), using spectrofluorometer.
General description
Fluorescamine is a reagent generally used for the detection of primary amines in the picomole range. It reacts instantaneously with amines, when it is in aqueous media and at room temperature. The products formed are highly fluorescent, though the reagent and its degradation products are non-fluorescent. It is also a novel reagent, used for the detection of amino acids, amines, peptides and proteins. It is highly sensitive and group specific, thereby making it useful, during histochemistry.
